Your task

Test one sensory cue linked with a warm childhood experience and turn it into a short, safe, repeatable present-day support ritual.

01

Check the cue before keeping it

02

Decide what to do with the cue

Proceed

If: The cue makes me feel slightly calmer or warmer while I remain present and oriented.

Then: Keep it and attach it to one simple ritual lasting only a few minutes.

If → then

If: The response is neutral or unclear but not uncomfortable.

Then: Do not force it to work; test a different sensory channel on another day and compare the response.

Stop signal

If: The cue triggers sharp distress, a flashback, freezing, or loss of orientation.

Then: Stop the cue, reorient to the room and body, and do not use that cue as a self-help tool.
